On a recent trip to the Kgalagadi I saw so many bat-eared foxes; in one afternoon I saw over four groups, all with more than seven foxes in each family. I had been watching one particular group for a while when suddenly one fox turned its head, looking at something close by.
Another fox joined and soon the rest of them where all on high alert. Eventually I saw what they were looking at… a snake! I laughed as they went for the snake and the snake re-acted and then they re-acted and jumped in the air.
They chased the snake into a drie doring bush where the snake managed to make its way to the top of the bush (see photo below).
The foxes then lost interest and moved on and all involved were un-harmed!
