Kingsley Holgate and his team of adventurers from the Kingsley Holgate Foundation have embarked on their Afrika Odyssey Expedition: a journey of purpose to connect 22 protected areas managed by African Parks and showcase their positive stories of hope for the continent.
We are pleased to showcase a series of stories the expedition team have shared from their journey:
The Afrika Odyssey journey – READ THEIR STORIES HERE
Matusadona – A renaissance story
Bangweulu Wetlands – Shoebills, swamps and shhhh!
Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve – A rejuvenation story
Bazaruto Archipelago – A seascape of hope
Journey north – Malawi to Rwanda
Nyungwe – To the source of the Nile
Garamba – Conservation in war and peace
Badingilo and Boma – The greatest migration
Odzala-Kokoua – Return to the heart of Africa
Zakouma and Siniaka-Minia – Africa in the raw
This is Kingsley’s 41st expedition into Africa. Fed up with stories of doom and gloom around conservation, Kingsley’s Afrika Odyssey Expedition team has set out to find powerful, positive stories emerging from across the African continent, and to highlight the outstanding conservation and community work being achieved by African Parks and their country partners. Along the journey, the foundation team is providing humanitarian support to the communities in and surrounding these protected areas.
