We are looking for a full-time Senior Travel Consultant to join the Africa Geographic team and make a real difference.
We have been the voice of African conservation and responsible travel since 1991, and are the most conservation-focused African tour operator in the world. Our partnerships with NGOs like African Parks sets us apart from other tour operators.
As a Senior Travel Consultant your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Absolute dedication to the detail of planning, selling and management of experience-rich, responsible safaris
- Broadening our product range by designing new products for AG based on your experiences across Africa
- Acting as the first (and best!) point of contact for international clientele interested in booking tailor-made holidays and safaris on the African continent
- Preparing attractive quotations and itineraries that complement individual client expectations and budgets
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of five years of experience in FIT safari consulting
- Broadly travelled in Africa
- Handle admin with aplomb – amaze us with your focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Fluent in English
Will be considered a plus:
- TourPlan, Wetu, Hubspot – similar
- Microsoft Office products
- Fluent in the languages other than English

We are looking for a full-time Safari Concierge to join the Africa Geographic team and make a real difference.
We have been the voice of African conservation and responsible travel since 1991 and are the world’s most conservation-focused African tour operator. Our partnerships with NGOs like African Parks sets us apart from other tour operators.
As a Safari Concierge, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Absolute dedication to supporting our safari consultants and finance team in planning, selling, booking and managing experience-rich, responsible safaris.
- Liaising with suppliers and properties, booking client flights, etc.
- Preparing precise quotes, travel documentation and booking extras such as restaurant reservations and added tours.
- Assisting our product manager in creating new travel packages and marketing content.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- A passion for travel in Africa and some travelling already under the belt
- A minimum of two years of experience in a safari-related supporting role
- Handle admin with aplomb – amaze us with your focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Fluent in English
- A minimum of two years of experience with Tourplan
- Financial expertise – bring accuracy and attention to detail in preparing precise quotes for our Senior Consultants and clients, ensuring seamless, error-free documentation and efficient handling of all travel-related financial tasks.

Financial Controller
Full time | Hybrid | Remote
We are looking for a full-time Financial Controller to join the Africa Geographic team and make a real difference.

As a Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Innovate across the financial team to improve financial systems and processes to support the growth of our team, ensuring they can scale effectively as we expand.
- Assist your travel team with financial processes and duties to ensure a seamless experience for our travel clients.
- Absolute dedication to supporting our finance team and safari consultants with quoting, invoicing, administration, bookkeeping and responding to queries
- Invoice reconciliation to supplier payments daily. Identify discrepancies and resolve banking issues with the relevant institutions, as well as maintain accurate data entry for all financial transactions.
- Process and monitor all incoming invoices and payments.
- Support the finance team in reconciling accounts payable and receivable balances.
- Support the finance team to ensure timely supplier payments and follow up on outstanding client balances.
- Support the finance team and consultants in liaising with suppliers and properties
- Provide a high level of accuracy in financial analysis, reporting and data management.
- Assist with travel expense reimbursements for employees and liaise with the Finance department as necessary.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring all employee deductions and payments are accurate.
- Maintain employee financial records and liaise with our finance team for employee-related financial queries.
- Ensure compliance with South African tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.).
- Assist with statutory audits and prepare documentation for SARS (South African Revenue Service) as required.
- Stay updated on financial and tax-related regulations.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Financial expertise – bring accuracy and attention to detail in preparing precise quotes for our Senior Consultants and clients, ensuring seamless, error-free documentation and efficient handling of all travel-related financial tasks.
- Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent proficiency with Sage Accounting Software
- Strong understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.)
- A passion for travel in Africa and some travelling already under the belt
- A minimum of five years of experience in a safari-related finance role
- Handle admin with aplomb – amaze us with your analytical skills, organisation, focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Fluent in English
- Good communication skills
Will be considered a plus:
- Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel – or similar
- Proficient in Tourplan and Hubspot – or similar
- Fluent in languages other than English

PHOTOGRAPHY ADMIN ASSISTANT – 2025
Contract type: 4-month paid contract position
Location: Hoedspruit, South Africa
Start date: 27th January 2025
We are looking for a dynamic photography and travel assistant to support our Hoedspruit team during our annual 4-month Photographer of the Year competition – a high-workload period for teamAG. You will work closely with our passionate team in a wonderful bushveld office environment. If you are passionate about the African continent and the digital media landscape, and you identify strongly with the Africa Geographic brand, you may be what we are looking for. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished university graduate seeking work experience in the travel and conservation industry.
This is a four-month paid contract position.
In your role you’ll be responsible for the following tasks:
- Photographer of the Year: Processing of submitted photographs and communications with entrants
- Photography archive: Assisting in ongoing management of our photo archive and image sourcing
- Administration: Assisting with general office admin tasks
- Campaigns: Assisting in weekly strategising of content performance and campaign ideas/communications and producing marketing material
- Monitoring of our generic email addresses and associated collateral
- Assisting with syndication of articles to media outlets
- Assisting the media and travel teams with ad hoc tasks
Requirements
- Excellent written communication skills
- Good understanding of the social media space
- Proficient in Photoshop or Lightroom, Google Suite products, social media scheduling, and Canva
- Have an interest in media/travel/conservation/photography/video production and editing
- Keen interest in a career in responsible travel
- knowledge or interest in gaining experience using travel software solutions such as Tourplan, Wetu and ResRequest are an added bonus
- Self-motivated team player with a passion for the African content
