RWANDA
Our safari prices include all services rendered by us, and we only generate revenue if you book a safari with us. Going directly to the lodges will not save you money because we earn volume-based discounts from them and can always access the best prices - for your benefit
This Akagera walking safari will expose you to nature's fine detail and the thrill of moving among Africa's iconic Big 5 and other large mammals on foot in a remarkable, awe-inspiring landscape.
Well beyond a safari activity, this is a fully immersive experience that permits participation in nature instead of traditional spectatorship. It creates the space for personal, social and wilderness regeneration.
Length: 8 days / 7 nights
Group Size: Minimum 4, maximum 8 people
Location: Akagera National Park, Rwanda
Departure Dates: Aug, Sep & Oct
The 8-day package will see you walking the 60km north-south length of Akagera National Park in Rwanda. This involves 5 nights of rough-camping and two nights in lodges - one at each end of the walk.
The Akagera trail season is limited to August, September & October each year - a suitable window period between the fire and rainy seasons.
Led by professional Wilderness Trails Guides, each with thousands of trail hours experience, you will spend five self-sufficient nights (6 days) in the wild. Carrying all your equipment in your backpack, you will enter a world only accessible to a privileged few.
The focus is on spending quality time exploring the natural environment along the way and not so much on completing the distances as quickly as possible. There are no demarcated campsites or routes. Each night is spent under the stars (no tents) at a pristine location with participants sharing watch duty responsibility.
