The Big 5 Thornybush Private Game Reserve is one of several private game reserves making up the Greater Kruger, which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park.
The 11,500 ha Thornybush features a variety of habitats, including thick riverine forests along the seasonal river banks and mixed savannah / deciduous woodland - perfect safari country.
You will find a variety of camps and lodges on offer in Thornybush - primarily traditional luxury lodges, bush camps and exclusive-use homesteads. Relatively high prices and strict access control results in low visitor numbers compared to the neighbouring Kruger National Park, and off-road driving (by experienced guides), night drives and bush walks guarantee fantastic wildlife encounters
