The Big 5 Balule Private Nature Reserve is one of several private game reserves making up the Greater Kruger, which shares an unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park.
The 55,000 ha Balule features rocky ridges and valleys in the north - interspersed with thick riverine forest along the Olifants River banks - and undulating deciduous woodland further south - perfect safari country.
You will find a variety of camps and lodges on offer in Balule - from small rondavels to traditional thatched lodges and tented camps. Relatively high prices and strict access control results in low visitor numbers compared to the neighbouring Kruger National Park, and off-road driving (by experienced guides), night drives and bush walks guarantee fantastic wildlife encounters

We live here, in Africa, and have been doing this since 1991. Travel in Africa is about knowing when and where to go, and with whom. A few weeks too early / late or a few kilometers off course and you could miss the greatest show on Earth. And wouldn’t that be a pity?
