HANDCRAFTED EXPERIENTIAL SAFARIS

Trust us to find you the rarest animals, the most spectacular wildlife events, the remotest landscapes and deeply meaningful cultural encounters!

Family and multi-generational safaris

Sharing a safari adventure with your family and extended family is the best way to bond with the most important people in your life.

Whether you wish to introduce youngsters to the magic of an African safari or reconnect with older children or grandparents, a family or multi-generational safari is an extraordinary way to create lifelong memories. From the thrill of spotting the Big Five to the joy of spending time with a gorilla family (child minimum age 15) or storytelling around a campfire under the stars, a family safari is more than just a holiday; it’s a shared journey that will be remembered for years to come.

Families have different needs and interests, and Africa’s diverse safari options provide something for everyone. Our safari consults will provide options based on your wish list and specific family dynamics.

Africa with young kids

Taking young children on safari requires careful planning. So much so, that we have written up a separate page about young kids on safari.

Africa with teens

Teenagers often prefer holidays that offer unusual or adventure-based experiences. Examples include:

  • Victoria Falls - Africa’s adventure capital - which offers white-water rafting, bridge swings and bungee jumping;

  • Namibia’s Sossusvlei and coastal towns for sand boarding down monstrous dunes and quad biking;

  • Kenya’s Maasai Mara for hot-air ballooning; and

  • Many coastal and inland beaches across Africa for kayaking, sailing and snorkelling.

Africa with older kids

Older children - often out of the house and running their own lives - prefer adult activities such as gorilla trekking, spotting the Big Five and enjoying the spectacle of the Great Wildebeest Migration. Reconnect with them by enjoying these epic safari moments together.

Africa with grandparents

Grandparents will enjoy the same safari activities as other adults, suitably adapted based on their level of physical health and fitness. Our safari experts will advise you on which safari activities are suitable based on their physical condition.

Why choose us to craft your safari?

Handcrafted experiential safaris since 1991.

Travel in Africa is about knowing when and where to go, and with whom. A few weeks too early/late or a few kilometres off course, and you could miss the greatest show on Earth. And wouldn’t that be a pity?
