Wild meerkats in the flatlands of Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Pans will use just about any lofty perch to keep a lookout for danger. These highly social animals forage in family groups and take predator-watching duties very seriously.

Christian Boix, Africa Geographic Travel director, and a group of guests were enjoying observing and photographing these fascinating characters when one chose him as his predator lookout platform of choice.
