It’s great to be back in the Lowveld. I’m currently sitting on a porch overlooking the Olifants River, hippos calling, with a hot, blustery wind blowing over me. Lovely.

I’m lucky enough to have been invited to a private game concession in the Klaserie area of Mpumalanga, adjacent to the great Kruger National Park. Other than the magnificent location, probably the best part about my situation is that we have approximately 5000 hectares of  pristine lowveld bush to explore, all to ourselves.

We have some great adventures planned for the week, including a night camping on a fifteen foot wooden platform in the middle of the bush, a plane flip over the farm, not to mention the hours of tracking and exploring the reserve ahead. We’re about to push off in search of a herd of buffalo seen earlier on the eastern boundary.

Will keep you updated.

P.S. While here, I’ll be shooting my editorial video for the full feature on Kruger in the next issue of Safari interactive magazine
