Bangweulu Wetlands in Zambia has some exciting news!
The first Shoebill chicks for the 2014 season have hatched and are all reported to be doing well. So far we have identified two nests with chicks on them. We have already employed Shoebill guards who will be responsible for protecting the nests, both from fires and from people. We hope to put up some more camera traps in order to once again capture some of the extremely interesting behavior of these birds.
