Whenever I seem to pass through Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya, I always seem to encounter some strange animal behaviour, this time was no different.

While on an afternoon game drive we stopped to observe a breeding herd of Cape buffalo by a swamp.

Just as we were leaving there was a sudden outburst of movement as a bull chased a cow and mounted her. Hot on his heels was another bull, who also seemed to think he had a chance, and he jumped in on the action too, making all the guests blush.

Definitely, the first buffalo threesome I’ve ever witnessed – it goes to show anything can happen in the wild.
