Kusi: A south-east monsoon arrives from May to October. This brings a strong wind and rain showers, which make the period the coolest. These are not months for fishing or snorkelling as the sea is rough, but they are perfect for relaxing and walking along empty beaches.
Mutalai: A transitional period with light easterly winds and calm weather. Mutalai can occur at any time from the end of October through to December, and again from mid-March to May.
Kaskazi: North-east trade winds arrive from December to February, which means that you can typically expect sunny days, with calm mornings but windy afternoons. The temperatures are kept reasonably cool due to this wind.
