Several sources reported yesterday that a rhino had been spotted in Etosha National Park with two bullet wounds in the head, however this appears not to be the case. The guide that reported the incident said he had been at Nebroni water hole in Etosha where a black rhino was lying down, not far away from the road, and on closer inspection he noticed two bullet wounds in the rhino’s head.

The guide then reported the sighting to the MET Official at Anderson Gate at Etosha. Fortunately a statement has come through from Matt Walters who works with staff in Okakuejo that this bull was not shot but the injuries are from fighting but they would like to thank all that brought this to their attention.
