Jacaranda season rears her beautiful purple-veiled head once a year and it is during this time that all those living in areas graced by the violet carpets can truly say they live in one of the prettiest parts of the world.

A simple glimpse of one of these magnificent trees, brings back a thousand memories of childhood for many that have moved on from their homes in Africa as nothing comes close to the breath-taking beauty of a hundred Jacaranda trees in bloom. Although Jacarandas are not indigenous to Africa, they are so common in many African cities and farm areas that they now form an integral part of the urban and rural landscapes and ecosystems.
