The Rotary Club of Hoedspruit members are gearing up for their Rotary K2C (Kruger to Canyons) Cycle Tour, which takes intrepid and adventurous cyclists over 90km through some of the most famous Big Five reserves in the Lowveld.

The cycling route runs from the edge of Kruger National Park to the Blyde River Canyon, through the Timbavati, Thornybush, Kapama and Blue Canyon Conservancy. This will be the second running of this unique event and will allow participants to cycle through some of the best private game viewing territory in South Africa.

The 2015 inaugural event was overwhelmingly voted an outstanding success and most of last year’s entrants have already signed up for this year’s event.

All funds raised will be used for nature conservation and for Rotary’s ongoing range of social upliftment programmes. So the cyclists not only get a unique game viewing experience and a real cycling experience but they will be contributing towards some really worthy causes.

The Hoedspruit Rotary President, John Lategan, said that last year their member’s efforts were matched by the generous help, assistance and donations of the local community who rose to the challenge and helped make the event possible.

With over 70 confirmed entrants already for this year’s event, John urges those who wish to enter to do so as soon as possible as 100 entrants is the maximum number allowed due to safety constraints.

The Cycle Tour will be held on 16 July 2016 and more information can be obtained on www.k2c-cycletour.co.za/registration.html.
