In our last issue of Safari we asked you to send us your best wildlife photographs from Africa. We received hundreds of entrants, wittled it down to three winners, and were left with a Facebook album of wildlife eye-candy. Here are the ten photographs you ‘liked’ the most:

1. Taken in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, the pride of lions had made a buffalo kill earlier in the day and after eating his full, this male wondered over to a puddle of water in the road and drank thirstily. Photo © Tamlyn Smith

2. As dusk fell in Namibia’s Etosha National Park, a herd of elephants made their way to a watering hole. Photo © Andrew White

3. The great white shark…What an animal. Photo © Andrew White

4. A male leopard looks up at his kill hanging in the tree one late afternoon in South Africa’s Sabi Sands. Photo © John De Jager

5. Yawn! Says the male baboon, taken in the Kruger National Park. Photo © Andrew White

6. An agressive female leopard protect her territory. Photo © Erik Van de Ven

7. The King keeps an eye on things while his queen sleeps on the banks of Zambia’s Luangwa River. Photo © Andrew White

8. Marakele aardvark. This aardvark (or as they are known in Afrikaans, ‘erdvark’), is one of the most illusive species in all of Africa! They are nocturnal and almost never seen at night, let alone in daylight. This image was taken in the sweet last rays of the setting African sun. Photo © Rudi van den Heever

9. In South Luangwa a zebra stops still and takes a moment to think. Photo © Louis Visser

10. A leopard is caught in the bright of a spot light while out on a night game drive. Photo © Louis Visser
